The Shell Series

With the effects of climate change on the oceans, my interest has turned to the sea and its power and menace. These drawings in pastel and charcoal as well as woven steel sculptures are inspired by seashell creatures which are now endangered by excessive carbon acidification of the oceans. They are armor of the sea and have names such as tritons, gladiators, armored vases and helmets.

After 500 million years, theirs is a losing battle.
